With excitement and anticipation in the air, the day had finally arrived. With weeks of tireless rehearsals, practice and, of course, endless drills to account for, the firewalls of Corpus Christi Senior High School were finally prepared for what was to be the best graduation ceremony in recent memory.

Under the theme; 25 years of Corpus Christi School’s Achievements; Resourcing the Nation for Development, the day did not only serve as the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022 but as an avenue for the launch of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of the school in February, this year.

Indeed, Corpus Christi Senior High School was prepared to give the day the ‘special touch’ it deserved as students treated the audience with various performances like a Naval Parade, thanks to the school’s Naval Cadet, a cultural performance from the school’s cultural troupe, a choral performance by the school choir, among other credible performances.

The day also bore witness to some notable sidelines such as a fundraiser, awards presentation, among others.

Let’s see what took place on the day.

Thanksgiving

One credible and symbolic feature of the event was the way the various student societies and clubs went the extra mile to give their thanks to God for 25 years of Corpus Christi Senior High School.

First, the Naval Cadet commenced the event with their special thanksgiving gift to God in the form of a cross formation, which preceded a march in slow and quick time across the square.

Then, the cultural troupe came along with a similar cross-formation with a finger pointing to the sky alongside the heavenly voices of the Corpus Christi School Choir, who treated the audience with melodious tunes and hymns to thank God for 25 years momentous years of ‘the small powerhouse’ , a name that the school has lived up to.

Keynote addresses

Delivering speeches during the day included the headmaster of the school, Rev. Fr. Hillary Agbenosi, the chairman of the event, Mr. Oliver Ohene-Djan, the Board Chairman of Corpus Christi Schools, Eng. Patrick Okoto, the guest speaker of the event, Dr. Louis Atsiatorme and the Special Guest of Honor; His Grace, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie (Cssp), among other key personalities.

Others

Among other highlights was the launch of the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of the school, this year, which bore witness to the unveiling of the 25th Anniversary project of the school; the completed portion of the school, which includes 12 classroom blocks, a 300-bed hostel facility, 4 labs, an ICT centre, among other breathtaking facilities.

On that note, a fundraiser took place in order to raise funds for the project to materialise. Led by Mr. Hilarious McCash of the St Bakhita Catholic Church, Community 20, the audience were drawn to ‘water a nourishing seed’ as the project was described as.

In all, hundreds of thousands of cedis in pledges have been received from different personalities and organisations. However, with millions of cedis to go, every cedi counts. And so, if you feel compelled to donate to a worthy cause, kindly click here to learn how to donate.

Awards

In all, about 79 awards and certificates were given of which 66 of them were given to the Class of 2022 whereas the remaining 12 were given to the Classes of 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively in recognition for academic excellence
